Integrity in the Worship Arts
As modern-day artistic Levites in the arts, it is crucial that we live authentic lives of integrity in order for Kingdom work to move forward unhindered. We fall short. We are saved by His divine offering for all mankind. We have an unfathomable responsibility and are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses who look to us as a reflection of His glory, holding life out in a depraved generation. Our light and salt must be influential. If no one is looking, we must do the right thing. And when we don’t, we must do the right thing about it. He knows the heart and will hold teachers and leaders to His higher standard. Sobering, indeed. Petrifying if you consier His uncomparable holiness for just one moment. And when our brother or sister fails, let us pray, forgive, and take on His yoke with grateful humility and every inhale and exhale it as we create with every cell of our being. We are desperate for Your touch every second. Purify us for Your use, Oh Most High G-d!
1 Kings 9:3-5 Tree of Life Version (TLV) Biblegateway.com
9 Now it came to pass, when Solomon had finished building the House of Adonai, the royal palace and all that Solomon was pleased to do, 2 that Adonai appeared to Solomon a second time, just as He had appeared to him at Gibeon. 3 Adonai said to him: “I have heard your prayer and your petition that you made before Me. I have consecrated this House, which you have built, to put My Name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there every day.
4 “As for you, if you will walk before Me as your father David walked—in integrity of heart and uprightness, doing all I commanded you, keeping My statutes and My ordinances— 5 then I will establish the throne of your kingship over Israel forever, as I promised your father David saying: ‘You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’
